We are thrilled to welcome Alex to the team
We are delighted to welcome Alex, who recently joined PKF BBA as a Chartered Accountant. We caught up with her to find out more about her background, first impressions of the firm, and what she’s most looking forward to in her new role.
Welcome to PKF BBA! To start us off, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Of course! I’m Jersey born and bred – I’ve always loved living on the island. In my spare time, you’ll most likely find me enjoying a bit of retail therapy, watching a good TV series, or heading out for a nice dinner.
What were you doing before joining the team here?
Before joining PKF BBA, I was working at an administration firm in Jersey. It was a great experience and helped set me up for the next step

in my career.
What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting?
To be honest, it was the idea that you could gain a professional qualification straight from school without going to university that really appealed to me. Funnily enough, maths was never actually my strongest subject at school – but here I am and I really enjoy it!

What does your role at PKF BBA involve? And what are you most looking forward to getting involved in?
My role involves working across both individual tax returns (ITRs) and company tax returns (CTRs), which is a new area for me – so I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and learning more. I also love the variety of clients that PKF BBA works with, it makes the work feel much more personal and interesting.

First impressions matter – how have your first few weeks been?
They’ve been brilliant! Everyone has been so welcoming. I’ve already been roped into the coffee runs and am quickly learning everyone’s drink orders. A special shout-out to Ann – she’s such a cheerful face to see in the morning, and makes everyone feel at home.

What are you most looking forward to in the months ahead?
I’m looking forward to getting more involved with clients and starting to build relationships as I work on their accounts and tax returns. And of course, I’m excited about team socials, it’s always great to have the chance to get to know colleagues outside of work.

Outside of work, how do you like to unwind?
I love settling down with a good documentary, a cuppa and something sweet – or planning my upcoming wedding, usually with a glass of wine in hand!

And finally – the all-important question – what’s your go-to tea round order?
In the morning, it’s an instant coffee with green-carton milk. By the afternoon, I switch to Yorkshire Tea – two teabags, splash of green milk. Strong and to the point!
