Partner
[email protected]I qualified with Deloitte Jersey in 1992. I was primarily involved in Audit but also in mainstream Accounting and Business Services and then in Offshore Trust and Company Administration. This included secondments out to London, Birmingham, New Zealand and Budapest. Following a few years then working for two local practices in Jersey learning the real world ropes, I joined PKF bba in 2000 and was made Partner in 2001.
I’ve got a large and varied portfolio of clients and I look after their Accounting, Tax and sundry business service issues, but I also enjoy the challenge of keeping up with and advising on the political and fiscal changes our little rock throws up on a not infrequent basis! I’m a Board Director of PKF UKI Limited, and the recruitment Partner for PKF bba. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who believes they have the qualities that would convince us to bring them into our team.
My local client base ranges from those in hospitality, retail, construction, medical and investment sectors.
I’m a typical problem solver and am only happy when I’ve worked out exactly how I can make things better for my clients. I love helping people inside and outside the business, whether helping team members work out their career goals, or getting stuck in at a client site unravelling any issues.
Hobbies
Outside of work my life is just as busy! My wife Rachel and I juggle a busy family life with our four active children and I have lots of hobbies and volunteer posts. Sometimes I’m performing in the local Amateur Dramatic groups or playing the cornet with the Band of the Island of Jersey and, at other times, I’m making a different type of noise as a Governor at Victoria College, treasurer at three local charities and VP of the Jersey Lions club.
You might not know this, but I was Jersey Island Junior Chess champion 3 times, although that was so long ago now that my kids can beat me! I’ve also done some fabulous charity treks to Nepal, Patagonia and Vietnam. I love Jersey and following Jersey Politics to such an extent that I’m thinking of running myself one day!
